Burn Studios, launched in Ibiza at IMS, sets out to provide a global community network where anyone can make music and collaborate with like-minded people from around the world, with the chance to be mentored by the best in the industry. Burn Studios will link established artists and untapped raw talent, create access to authentic state-of-the-art music making tools, link into the support of tailored mentoring sessions by some of the biggest names in electronic music and connect creatively with peers through a ground breaking digital platform.
Burn Studios is proud to confirm that Richie Hawtin, world class DJ and head of the almighty M-nus label, and Cassius, legendary French production duo, have agreed to become Ambassadors for the platform, making Burn Studios the hottest property available to anyone with a fervent desire to immerse themselves in up-front music making.
Launched at IMS 2010, with the IMS community as a co-creational sound-board, Burn Studios gathered ideas and valued input on key issues including the future of music making and music mentoring and education. The focus of Burn Studios at IMS was to work with the community to build a relevant and sustainable platform that delivers an industry response on issues raised, back to the community.
Richie Hawtin: "Cloud technology will be the next step in democratizing the creative process, freeing the next generation from local or incompatible computer programs and allowing a new level of collaboration and exploration. Minus has always been a label of friends and like minded individuals pushing forward to a common creative goal and with Burn Studios we hope to open up new creative global relationships and learn and explore the next step of our continuing musical evolution."
Cassius: "Burn Studios will give us the opportunity and the platform to give back to the music community and offer our guidance and experience to new generations of music makers."
